I understand there are people that have issues with the company. I've already said my peace on that. I hope to cover a few of the Babyville products that I have used so far and my experience with the company.

So the other day I went to Hobby Lobby and they had rearranged. As Kel and I were looking at all of the new displays I suddenly realized that I was looking at PUL. My excitement was overwhelming. The entire display was on baby diapers. They had a Babyville DIY diaper book, the PUL material, FOE (fold over elastic), snaps, snap pliers, appliques. Everything was color coordinated. I immediately bought 1 yard of PUL, 1 yard of suedecloth, 1 yard of flannel, the FOE, snaps, snap pliers, and the book. I have since made three diapers and have enough material to make one more diaper. I made one FOE Pocket Diaper, one Quick-Dry AIO, and one Quick-Dry AIO with leg gussets. I see several things I would do differently next time. For instance I don't like the opening to the pocket. I fought with the gussets and had to rework them because I didn't get the FOE tight enough the first time and it may still not be tight enough. I also would like to work on the stitch on my built in soakers. I didn't take the stitch right to the edge like I should have. I think if I get a side cutter foot, my current stitch would be fine. I also screwed up the snaps on my first pocket diaper and had to add more snaps to fix it.

My new favorite diaper is now the Blueberry diaper. I bought a Blueberry AIO Basix (medium) and loved it from the moment I received it. The Blueberry at first reminded me of the gdiaper because it fastens on the side. However I love the way it fits her waist and around her legs. One of the reasons I really like this diaper is because the attached soaker pad comes out when you wash the diaper. I don't use this diaper as a pocket but place my inserts over the diaper as an all in two so I use fewer diapers. However I love that it has the attached soaker that comes out so I know the diaper is getting thoroughly clean. The diaper fits Abbie very well and I have had no leaks. I've also bought two Minky Blueberry diapers which turned out to be large. I thought this was odd because on the website the Minky is one size. These two have tags which state they are large and are currently a little big on her cute tush. They have to be an older style, but I think they will still work well as an AI2 or a pocket. Below is a picture of Abs in her large Blueberry Minky.

Today I made my first diaper cover. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. I figured out several things I could do to make a better diaper cover and I think perhaps I would like to make these and sell them in my free time (I have any of that?). I plan to adjust the waist tomorrow so it will fit Abbie better and then I'll post more pictures. Here is one picture I was able to get before she went to bed. Let me know your honest opinion.

I have now been cloth diapering for almost a month and a half. I've gotten several used diapers and bought several new diapers and made some huge mistakes along the way. This is my first attempt at reviewing several cloth diapers including gdiaper, Gerber, Nubunz, Mother-ease, Thirsties All in one Duo Diaper, and Thirsties Covers. I also have a Cheeky Diaper, a Wiggle Worm Bottom diaper and econobum inserts. The two diapers are still too big, so I'll do these three at a later date.

I work really hard as a teacher. I have poured my life into those kids for seven and a half years. I buy supplies. I buy candy, breakfast, you name it and buy it for the kids. Over the course of the years I have had two phones, three cameras, a necklace Carl gave me, and now my SD card stolen. I'm done. All of my pictures were on that SD card.

Today everyone wants to save money and be "green." I decided to give it a go and see how cloth diapering would work for our family. Read on to hear about my experience and what I have learned through this journey.
I guess this is always the first thing you have to write when you start a blog. I know you are thinking who is Tech-Momma and why should you care about anything she might have to say. I am a wife, mother to two, and an educator. I also spend a lot of time geocaching with Tech-Daddy. I am working on my Master's in Educational Leadership and plan to graduate in December. My ultimate goal is to work as a testing coordinator at the district level. Hopefully this blog will provide useful reviews of different toys, be it kid's or adult's. Just have to decide what to look at first.
